Last night we had a huge thunder storm that shook the ground!! Lots of rain but we were tucked up in bed.
We had an unexpected pack up today. We decided to stay another night because of the rain,BUT, our site was already booked and the people had requested our site. 😩 So, after having a lovely sleep in we had to pack up a wet tent and be on our way!! Grabbed a coffee and headed for the hills.
We went via Beechworth another lovely country town. It had lots of original buildings and lots of expensive arty shops. It also had a lolly/chocolate shop!! We bought chocolate coated aniseed rings(Steve’s fav.),chocolate coated snakes and chocolate honeycomb. ☺️☺️☺️
We’ve found there is a bakery in every town!! We skipped this one. Watching our waistline!
We then went through Wodonga and over the border to Albury. Big towns but didn’t stop as we wanted to head along the Murray River and pick a nice spot to camp the night. However! Nav.Girl took us some weird route missing most of the Murray we wanted to see to Yarrawonga! We’ve sacked her!!
The lake, Lake Mulwala, is a man made lake with all these dead trees sticking out of it! Looked awesome. Will get a photo tomorrow. They made it by damming the Murray River way back in 1838 but the lake wasn’t created till 1939. Great water skiing spot.
We’ve set up camp at Yarrawonga Holiday Park awaiting another thunderstorm.
(Love the RV in the background???)
Cheers everyone!

What possessed you to head inland?
Had to camp on the Murray, It’s an Aussie icon. Heading back down to the coast after this via lake eildon.
