Had a pretty restless night as it turns out that the camp ground is on the main cattle/stock truck route as well as being in the goods train line. Had a couple beep their horns as they passed through in the middle of the night, which last about 10 minutes😳
We spent the day touring the area on the cycle paths. First stop was coffee and then we crossed the bridge over lake Mulwala to NSW.
Once back in gods state we went looking for a cycle path that skirted along the lake. Not far in and Bel was swooped by a Maggie and was a bit rattled. We found the path along the lake – looks like a dam to me, but I guess Dam Mulwala doesn’t have the same ring to it.
About half way along the path and we were chased by a Maggie again and this one was a little more aggressive. That was enough for Bel and I so we only rode a little further and then turned back. The Maggie chased us out on the way back and he kept chasing for a good while. Very funny to watch I’m sure.
We head back over the bridge to another cycle path that skirted the lake out to a place called Chinamans Island. It was a very pretty reserve that used to be a market garden and was now a wetland reserve.
We followed the path as far as it went and then turned back to home and grabbed some fresh bread rolls on the way for a late lunch.
Overall it’s a pretty quiet place. Waterskiing and fishing are the main attractions. I don’t waterski, and when I saw this sign:
