My flying visit home!

I was very lucky to again to head home for a week so I didn’t miss out on Lachie and Kallie’s wedding. I’d been counting down the days and couldn’t wait to see the kids, puppies and catch up with family and friends. Unfortunately Steve had to stay in Darwin to look after the camper trailer but he had planned to have some very kind mates to visit and keep him company. 👍😜

It was also a good time to inspect the house and I’m pleased to say it passed inspection!! The dogs looked good too and Buddy hadn’t froze to death. A few things will need tweaking before come home again. 😜

I arrived late Wednesday night. Aleesha came to pick me up with the puppies!! Loved it! It was wonderful to see Damo and Aleesha and of course my fur babies and Buddy.

At home we had a bit of catching up to do so it ended up being a late night!
Thursday was shopping day with Aleesha for wedding outfits. Aleesha had success within the hour. Dress and shoes! Unfortunately I couldn’t find anything.😩I was also very excited to be catching up with Matty for lunch. Hadn’t seen him since Christmas. We had some sushi train fun.

After a long day shopping it was nice to be home relaxing on the lounge (also known as Big Red, named by Zac Quitzau.) Steve and I miss our lounge. Britt joined Damo, Leeshy and I for a dinner of Broccoli soup. The soup was perfect for the cold Sydney night.

Friday I had lunch with Kate and Joanne and caught up on the BPS goss to prepare me for my return. 😳 Lots of new stuff to take on. I decided I better enjoy the last leg of our trip and not think about it.

Joanne drove me home and stayed for a sleepover. We had a fun night of wines, pizza, gossip and catching up. Must do it again sometime Mrs Rochow!! 😉

Also Josh arrived home after spending 2 months out at Camden.😊

We caught up on his news and then he headed to Lachies to stay the night because he was a groomsman.

Saturday was wedding day! I had my hair and nails done and felt like a new woman. No more camping dirt.

Lachie and Kallie’s wedding was beautiful and we felt very privileged to be invited. The bride and groom, bridesmaids and groomsmen and flower girls and page boys all looked gorgeous.

The ceremony was in the Sydney University Great Hall and was very moving. There were definitely a few tears!

Us Bool’s didn’t look too bad either.

The reception was at Zest in Mosman and was fantastic! Lots of  dancing, beautiful food and a flowing bar. It was great to catch up with all of Josh’s friends too.

Aleesha caught the bouquet!

It was great to see Kallie’s Greek side of the family represented with the traditional dancing and drinking of a glass of scotch from the floor. There were a lot of happy people at the end of the night!!

I have to say our three beautiful kids scrubbed up very well. I was a very proud mum.

We were all feeling a bit dusty the next morning so we had a much needed hearty brunch! The puppies came too!!

The rest of the day was spent relaxing.

That night Aleesha and I went to the movies to see You before me with Matty, Britt and Peter and Kath. It was a tear jerker and exhausted us further! So it was home to bed for a much needed sleep.

Monday I had lunch at Chiswicks, a restaurant in the art gallery with Matty and Peter. It was a great catch up with my brothers and a lovely lunch. Unfortunately there was no time to see the Archies.

That night I finally managed to get all the kids together for dinner and a Skype with Steve. It was a long awaited catch up for Steve with the kids.

Tuesday I finally had time to spend the morning around home doing some jobs and then I went to lunch to catch up with Angie. It was a yummy lunch again and great to hear all the Morrison’s news.

That night it was time catch up with the of the rest of the family with dinner at Pete and Genet’s. I was starting to think I wouldn’t fit into my clothes when I went back to Darwin with all the lunch and dinners! It was a fun catch up and a yummy dinner. Thanks Pete for the delicious fajitas.  😊

We went home and I spent my last night sitting on the lounge with my puppies. 😔

Early the next day Aleesha took me back to the airport to return to Darwin and to Steve who I was missing very much.

Sydney when I left.
Sunny Darwin!

It was wonderful to go home for another visit and now we only have 2 and a half months of our gap year to go before we’re home again. I can’t believe we’ve almost finished our lap of Australia.
