Steve and I left lovely Pottsville after an easy pack up in what we thought was perfect time. We forgot the Queenslanders are behind the times!! So a stop at Tweed Heads for supplies was a must.
We set up camp at Tallebudgera Tourist Park. It was very hot so we went straight to the pool. It was an adults only pool!! Although we weren’t there long and some kids came along with their parents. The kids read the sign on the gate “18+ only” The parents reply was “Don’t worry about that.” And people wonder why kids don’t follow rules!
We went and had a look at the creek which was very busy. Boats everywhere towing kids on tubes, kayaks and SUP’s and people just sitting in the water. We decided on lunch and then back to the pool where there’s plenty of shade.
That night we had the big 50th surprise party for my cousin Brett. It was at Nic and Jason’s in Mermaid Waters. Very nice spot on the canals with the bull sharks!! It was a great night catching up with family and friends. A few old faces from the Dee Why days too.
The next day we had a quiet one. We needed the mandatory feed of bacon and eggs.

The Easter bunny also visited!
Nic, Jamie and the boys came to visit. We went for lunch at the Tallebudgera surf club. The weather wasn’t great so we stayed for a bit. Steve and I were a little tired from the night before! (Nic was sensible and went home early) So they left us to watch the Waratahs game back at camp. We were in bed very early!!!
In the morning we went for a walk along the creek and out to the beach. The water looked beautiful and you could see right up and down the coast. Again lots of people on the water enjoying the Easter long weekend.
We had a lovely lunch at the Lonestar Tavern. I couldn’t believe it was still there! We used to go there 30+ years ago when we were holidaying with my mum and dad. It was really nice catching up with Aunty Marlene!! And of course Aunty Colleen, Nic and Jamie again.
After lunch we took Aunty Colleen back to show her our set up and how we cook!! Brett, Casey and Sienna called in too. It was hard saying goodbye. 😔
It was fantastic to see everyone. No one has changed, just look a little older and some a little fatter!! 😜
