Bega

Today we headed off to Bega – to get some cheese!!!  We packed up and then went to the headland and took some final photos of Bermagui. It was a spectacular day.

We forgot to mention that we finally saw a whale yesterday🐳🐋!!!! Bel snapped a photo, if you look very, very, very,… VERY hard you can see the spout in the distance!

We arrived in Bega at about 11.30am and checked in at the Grand Hotel – the local pub (we are going luxury the next couple of days). The drive through Tathra to Bega was beautiful, rolling hills, rainforest, rivers, and dairy farms.

Once checked in we jumped on our bikes and headed straight to Maccas! Yum! Had to do it – it’s cheap, and nutritious!

We went for a ride around Bega to burn off the calories. Bega has put in a great cycle path that goes from the centre of town and loops around the town following the Bega river. About 14km all up.

The river was beautiful, and would be great to have a paddle in, but we are going to leave that for Bombala. Apparently we may have a chance to see platypus up there.

On the way we found the Bega cheese factory, so we stopped and had a look around – interesting, but no tours unfortunately.

After a bit of cheese tasting we headed back into town. We spent the remainder of the day enjoying a beer and wine at the pub and planning our next stops. Lots of national parks to come👍😊🐠
