Point Cook, Melbourne

Bel and I have spent the last three days catching up and celebrating with Katie and Paul.

The first day we went for a tour of the area and visited the Werribee Mansion, a beautiful estate the state government purchased as a heritage site in the 1970s.

The mansion is huge and was once the home of wealthy early farmers. It is now a tourist site as well as home to the Victorian state rose garden.

It was Katie’s birthday so that evening we went to their favorite restaurant in Footscray to celebrate. The food was beautiful.

Yesterday, it was my turn – my 50th birthday! I spent the first half of the day getting a charging issue fixed in the car (loose connections) and the rest celebrating. Went out to dinner again and now  I’m recovering.

This afternoon we head into town to meet Michael and Angie for the week. We are booked in for the spring carnival with tickets to Derby, Cup, and Oaks day – should be a great week!

Thank you so much Katie, Paul, and Andrew for your hospitality and thank you in advance for looking after the trailer for us.
