Bel and I arrived at Wilsons Promontory today at about 4.30 in the afternoon. It was another long drive from Wangaratta – about 6 and a half hours all up, including a traffic jam through Melbourne.
Yesterday was a quiet day just getting organised again. We went through the camper and tested everything and made some adjustments. Then went and bought supplies for the next 6 days as we were heading into a national park.
It rained most of the afternoon and overnight, so we waited for the tent to dry out before heading off at about 10am. The drive was again through some very beautiful and diverse countryside, especially as we came into the prom.
We set up camp in about 40 minutes this time – a big improvement on the 3 hours the first time (it was the instructions😳). I reckon we’ll halve that again.
The camp area is beautiful. We are directly beside the Tidal river just as it reaches the beach. Can’t wait to get back into our walking, riding, and paddling to check it all out.
Beautiful spot. I hope you don’t make the mistake of driving all the time. You should spend at least a week there.
Yes beautiful and agree. We are planning to spend 5 nights. All the driving recently has just been to get back on track.
