Our last day in Lakes Entrance was quiet. It was very hot with a dry north westerly wind.
We did the laundry and then set off to find a good coffee. We spotted a shop called ‘The Coffee Lab and Kitchen’ the day before so went straight there. Yay!! The coffee passed the test!
After that we shopped for some supplies to take with us to Bright. We planned to stop at Bairnsdale on our way for some camp gear and there’s an Aldi there too, so decided to wait till then to get most of our supplies.
Came back to camp for lunch then I headed back to town to get my hair coloured. 5 weeks was stretching it!! I feel like new woman!!
Steve stayed back at camp for a swim. It was hot!! While he was there the wind picked up and was very gusty. He was dodging branches dropping from the many gum trees.
The wind was still hot and strong when I rode back after getting my hair done. My hair looked so nice after having it in a helmet and in that wind!
The wind then turned to the south west so it was cold!!
Walked to the Bowlo for a nice dinner. It was warm and had a TV.
Early the next day we were up and packed in less than an hour and on our way to Bright. So going from the coast to the mountains along the Great Alpine Road.
A stop at a lookout and then to Bairnsdale.
Bairnsdale was very successful. Camp and food supplies covered and more data for Steve’s phone and maccas for lunch. Then we were on our way to Bright.
Wow!! What an amazing road! The views were sensational!! The little towns we went through so pretty. The Great Alpine Road needed all of Steve’s attention! It was a very long winding road with lots of hairpin corners and seemed to go forever!
We went through Mt Hotham which was very pretty.
Finally made it to Bright! Such a pretty place with lots to do.
Checked out the parks and decided on the BIG 4.
Set up and having a wine in less then an hour!! Getting good with setting up and pack up.
Looking forward to lots of rides, kayaking and fun in the town of Bright. Hoping to maybe get in a horse ride too.
