We arrived home today after driving 3700kms in 6 days.
We left Esperance and drove 950kms to Eucla. We stopped overnight in Eucla.
We then drove 850kms to Wudinna and the next day 700kms to Renmark.
We stayed for two nights in Renmark for a rest! It’s on the Murray River. Loved our view.

Very nice Big 4 park. Pool was a must!! Forecast for the next day was 39 degrees all day and expected till around 9pm!!!
We had a much needed sleep in then headed for the pool. We jumped in and out of the pool all day to keep cool. Until……..wait for it!! …….. SOMEONE POOED IN THE POOL!!!!😳 They had to close the pool for the rest of the day. Luckily we were on the Murray River, so we spent the rest of a very hot day sitting by the river, jumping in and out to keep cool. We also had a paddle on the Murray!

After a lovely rest by the Murray River we drove our next leg to Gundagai, traveling 900kms.
The camping ground had very unusual sites that were all undercover, and with personal ensuites.
Today we drove the final leg to home. It was going to be the shortest leg so far, 400kms! Easy!!!
We stopped into Goulburn to visit Steve’s mum, and then his dad’s grave on the way, and then when we were almost home we hit an horrendous traffic jam on the M5 – a truck had broken down in the tunnel!! Luckily we heard this on the UHF radio so jumped off and took a big detour via the Anzac bridge and are now finally home. 😊😊
The puppies were very happy to see us and Buddy started whistling Steve’s and my whistles we’d taught him.
We’re now mostly unpacked and sitting out the back, and very glad to be living in a house again.
So that’s the end of the first stage of our gap year. It’s been an awesome trip so far. A bit of time at home before Stage 2 starts in March. We can’t wait.
