On Friday morning after a slow and steady pack up in very hot and sticky conditions Steve and I stocked up on supplies and headed to my cousins house in the Bachelor State Forest. The Crusier and 4WD camper trailer went well on the road into the forest. Rocky, dusty and dips in the road full of water was fun! It would have been great fun if it was wet! We saw a goanna and some black cockatoos on the way in. It was the most adventurous roads we’d been on so far and was definitely off the grid.
Leonie and Graham have a beautiful 150 acre property in the forest surrounded by national parks and on a river that goes all the way back to Forster. They’re also off the grid and totally self sufficient with power and water. Solar panels on the roof and water tanks means no electricity or water bills! Nice!
It has a lovely, peaceful and relaxing outlook. We sat on the deck and then down the back on the grass. I would get nothing done if I lived here. I would just relax and enjoy! After lunch (prawns and rolls fresh from Forster) we went for a walk to their private jetty on the river which would be awesome for kayaking or fishing. They said they’d spent a few hot days just floating around. It was beautiful. Later we enjoyed sitting out the back admiring the peace and having a good chinwag with wine and cheese.
Tia was hoping for some cheese and biccies too!

After a lovely dinner we went to bed in the Platypus. It’s a small self contained house that was transported to the property from somewhere!?? (Sorry Graham I forgot where from!) Thankfully we didn’t have any visitors overnight! (ie tree snakes, other snakes!!!)
The next day Steve helped with the mowing. He had a great time. After brekky it was time to say goodbye. 😔
It was great to catch up with Leonie and Graham and see their beautiful home before it sold.
