Still recovering from our day on the green we planned an early night. At dinner we tested out our Shooaway. It’s an amazing device to keep flies away (google it!) and it did! The photo doesn’t really show you how it works.
The next day after a bacon and egg roll for breakfast down on Little Beach we went on a journey of reminiscing.
Steve and I had our honeymoon at Soldiers Point in my dad’s caravan. The caravan park was called Water Wonderland back then and now it is a Big 4 and much bigger!!
We had a wander through and found the tennis courts we played on and tried to locate where dads caravan was.
The jetty across the road where we fished was also twice the size.
The bowling club next door was still the same and we remember enjoying a few drinkies and dinners there.
Another caravan park we stayed at once when Josh was about 3 at Salamander Bay had gone!!
It was great driving past all the other places we visited over the years when we camped at Anna Bay with the kids. The toboggan park was still open! It now has a mini ice skating rink. We had some fun times there! One memory is of Steve tipping out of the toboggan with Aleesha!!
The town of Nelson Bay hasn’t changed much at all. The marina was the same. Although now charged for parking of course!
We spent the afternoon on Little Beach.
We have great memories of our kids having fun here. We had our first ever camping trip with the kids at Halifax caravan park.
Must say thanks to Adrian Rudman for the mosquito coil holders called Croc Heads. They’re great! If you break a coil you just squeeze the Croc Head and it holds it in and doesn’t fall over!
It was a great 2 night stop reminiscing.
Love our new set up.
