The day started a bit cool and overcast. We are both pretty tired so we decided it would be a good day to relax and recharge our batteries. After breakfast we took a short walk down to the local shops, bought some supplies and grabbed a coffee. The coffee shop was very interesting – it was an organic oyster bar (selling oysters from their farm), that had expanded to become a wine bar, and then also organic coffee shop. The coffee was made from freshly roasted beans, using local milk – very nice.
We dropped the shopping off back at camp and then did a 5 min bike ride up to see the Blue Pool. It’s a naturally formed ocean pool that has been used for the past 100 years and was even used for swimming competitions. It’s had a few man made mods, but mostly naturally formed.
We also had a quick look for some whales while we were there. There was a lady up there that said she had just spotted some, so we got out the binoculars – but still no luck, they must have spotted us first . Seems to be a trend!
We then headed back to camp for lunch – chicken wings on the weber – yum, and spent the afternoon reading the paper and relaxing in the afternoon sun (and cold breeze).

It was also a good day to recharge our camping power. We are running a self sufficient power system, with dual batteries in the car, recharged by solar panels.

This runs our fridge, lights, chargers and an inverter for 240v stuff like our air bed.

We have a remote monitor that lets us know the fridge temp as well as the amount of charge left in the battery. So far it has worked great, we have been on unpowered sites for the last 6 days and the battery hasn’t gone below 70%.

Tonight the plan is to listen to the footy and rest up, we are hoping we can go for a paddle in the morning on Wallaga lake If the weather is ok (showers are forecast). Bel is cooking penne bosciola for dinner tonight – yum – it’s all about the food!!! 😊
